Off Traq 2026 (22 - 25 October) is calling all motoring enthusiasts with a love for the open road, old-school vehicles, and doing good for the WA community.

Join us for a 4-day not-for-profit rally through regional WA, filled with challenges, mateship, and muddy good memories — all in support of vital charities. All vehicles must comply with WA Road Rules. Routes are mostly on gazetted roads, and safety is our top priority.

Terms and Conditions

INTRODUCTION

The OffTraq Event will be held over 4 days from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th October 2026.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all participants plus volunteer officials and their vehicles.
They cover basic requirements and compliance is a pre-requisite for participation.

GENERAL

Completion of registration forms and payment of entry fees etc. is a pre-requisite to participation.

MEDICAL

The event will have a qualified First Aid Officer (FAO) in attendance.
In the event of a medical emergency, the participants should use the two-way radio to request the FAO.
The FAO will need to know the exact location of the patient and the nature of the requirement.

VEHICLES

All participating vehicles will be themed to reflect the fun nature of the event.
Modern and 4WD vehicles must be themed to enter.
Examples are available on the website. if you need guidance, the organisers can send you some suggestions.
Vehicles will have current Registration and Insurance.
Vehicles must be presented for and pass a pre-event Vehicle Safety Check.
Vehicles must have a registered and tagged Fire extinguisher.
Each vehicle must have a UHF (Two way radio), either installed or hand held. These can be rented from the organisers.
Running costs (fuel, oil, repairs etc.) to be met by the entrant.

DRIVERS and NAVIGATORS

Organisers take no responsibility for events related to pre-existing health conditions.
Drivers must present and retain a current valid Driver's licence for the class of vehicle.
Drivers must not drive recklessly or dangerously or if the vehicle is in an unsafe condition.
Safe driving requires tight oversight of alcohol and drug levels.
Maximum blood alcohol level for drivers and navigators on course is 0.02.
Any participant observed to be under the influence of alcohol, illegal or non-prescribed drugs may be prevented from taking part in the event.
Drivers must ensure compliance with all gazetted road rules and laws (seat belts, speed limits etc.) and follow road signs.
In the event of a breakdown or incident the Driver must inform the Event Coordinator (Russell Lanyon -0408 947 794) as soon as practicable using a hand-held UHF Radio which each vehicle must have.
Participants must don a high viz vest whenever outside the vehicle if broken down.
Participants will be liable for any damage resulting from incidents.
Participants should familiarise themselves with the Participant's Manual which will be given to each vehicle crew at the Final Briefing. The Manual includes Official's contact details, radio call protocols, guidelines for handling an accident or an emergency, overtaking and Route Notes information for directions.
Participants whose driving or other behaviour is in breach of the Terms and Conditions may be excluded from continuing in the event.

BREAKDOWNS

The Event Organisers will have a mechanic in the fleet to assist with minor repairs if needed.
Should the vehicle not be repairable on the roadside, the mechanical assistance vehicle will transport the vehicle to the nearest town with a workshop at no cost.
Any repair costs or transport to another location will be the responsibility of the participant.

ROUTE NOTES

Participants will receive Route Notes for each session of the event.
It is a requirement that teams follow these route notes using their trip meter to ensure they are on the allocated course.
If uncertain, use your UHF radio to check with your nearest vehicle.

SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS

There will be places en route that do not have mobile phone coverage. If cars have a Starlink receiver, this can assist in emergencies.
Those who do not already have a Starlingk account can access Starlink on many modern mobile phones if linked to Telstra PostPaid. or UpFront Plan.
This allows the transmission and receipt of SMS only, (no data or voice) on your current handset in case of an emergency.

Phones on the following list which have been purchased through Telstra are ready for Telstra Satellite Messaging. Compatibility for BYO devices may vary. Make sure you have the latest software.
